Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, Waterton
August 9-24
If you want to see the Rocky Mountain Parks, this is the trip for you. We will take our time through the mountain areas to be sure we see all the sights. To really get the feel of the lakes, we are also including a couple of boat rides to get a nice view of the majestic peaks.
We start out the trip heading north, spending the first night in Denver and then Jackson Hole, WY. We will spend two nights here as we spend most of the day traveling into the Grand Tetons, a majestic range of mountains lining the horizon. Traveling into Yellowstone Park the next day, we will be staying at the Yellowstone Lakes Lodge for two nights. We will visit Old Faithful, stop at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Mammoth Springs as well as many other sights through the park. Traveling the Bear Tooth Highway to Red Lodge will be quite an experience. We will spend the night in Bozeman. After making a stop in Helena, the capital, we will take a boat ride at Gates of the Mountains.
We will spend the night in Kalispell on the west side of Glacier National Park. Traveling through the park on the “Going to the Sun” highway will give us a perspective like no other. The valley below and the surrounding peaks are certainly breathtaking. If you are afraid of heights, you will need blinders. From here we will head north into Canada, spending two nights at Waterton Lakes. We will take a boat ride on Waterton Lake, observing the mountain peaks as as we are surround from all sides.
That afternoon we will drive into Waterton Park. We will continue our trip, northwest through Canada. We will be visiting Ft. Steele, which is an historic park, recreated as a typical town from the settlers in the 1890-1905 period. This is a very popular place, showing the history of the area and the Canadian people. We will be spending the night in nearby Cranbrook before we start south again. Back into the states the next day as we continue through the mountains. We will spend the night in Bonners Ferry, ID, surrounded by the Kootenai Mountain Range. Continuing our travel through some beautiful mountain roads as we head into Montana, spending the night in Missoula.
As we head south we will travel into Idaho again, staying on the banks of the Snake River at Idaho Falls. Back into Wyoming the next day we will finish out our drive through the high mountain prairie, spending the night at Rock Springs, WY. Our final evening will be in Colorado Springs, Co.
The cost is $2895 per person, two per room. $3995 for a single room. A deposit of $100 guarantees your space with a deposit of $1400 per person is due by July 5th. The remainder is due prior to the trip. The cost includes transportation, lodging, all activities and breakfast each morning.
