Each month we will schedule a trip in the West Texas area (except summer). The day trips cost will range from $20 to $50 per person, depending on where we are going and the entrance fees. The one night trips vary by the activity scheduled and the lodging costs.  Most of the day trips will include lunch at a pre-arranged location. The actual date and activity will be scheduled at the first of each month.  Call our home phone, 863-2190  to find out what, when and where we will be going.  The answering machine will have a recorded message.   I will send an e-mail to those with access.  Send your address via e-mail to awalters@travelkingshighway.com.  I will also send postcards to those that live in a close proximity to Lubbock.  Look for a note in the middle of January for our upcoming January and February day trips.

SPRING + RAIN = BLUEBONNETS/WILDFLOWERS April 12-14, leave 8:00 a.m.  There has been so much we decided we needed a trip to central Texas.  Day 1: to Abilene.  Lunch at *Joe Allens and visit *Buffalo Gap Historic Village.  Overnight stay:  *Hampton Inn by the mall in Abilene.  Day 2:  drive to Fredericksburg along the back roads, taking a break in  Mason and the Wildflower Farm along the way.  Overnight stay at *Inn of Baron’s Creek in Fredericksburg.  Day 3: drive through the area for a few more bluebonnet pictures and then head for home.  Lunch at *Zentner’s Daughter in San Angelo.  Cost:  $295 per person/2 per room.  $410 for a single.  Includes * activities and transportation.   Please call and get your names down asap.  Hotels are limited.

Day Trip, Tuesday, April  27th, leave 9:00 a.m. The wildflowers  should be in full bloom for our drive through the back roads.  Our first stop will be the Caprock Canyon State Park.  We will have a picnic lunch in the park.  After some relaxation time we will head north through the canyon areas.  At Groom we will visit the Northern Hemispheres Largest Cross.  We will relax on our way home and should arrive by 6:30 pm.  The cost will be $40 per person which includes lunch and entry fees.      Leave from Walmart, Loop 289/Quaker, east side of parking lot
