We will leave at 9:00 a.m., traveling the short distance to the Silent Wings Museum at the Lubbock airport The museum has information and history of the glider training that was done in this area. A restored CG-4A glider is the centerpiece of the exhibits. Traveling south, we will have lunch in Sweetwater. After lunch we will go to the National WASP WWII Museum. The museum seeks to educate and inspire all generations with the story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots – the first women to fly America’s military aircraft – women who forever changed the role of women in aviation! We may stop by a few local historic markers prior to traveling home, as time allows. We will try to be home by 6:00 p.m. $40 per person. Leave from Walmart at Quaker/Loop 289. We park on the east side of the parking lot.

Each month we will schedule a trip in the local area. The day trips cost will range from $20 to $50 per person, depending on where we are going and the entrance fees. There also may be some trips planned that are only one or two nights out. Most of the day trips will include lunch at a pre-arranged location. The actual date and activity will be scheduled at the first of each month. I will send e-mail or postcards to those that live in a close proximity to Lubbock. If you do not get one, please call and give me your information so you will be included in future notifications. Electronic mail is preferred, please send your address via e-mail to awalters@travelkingshighway.com. Please call our office phone for immediate assistance or more information. Be sure to leave your number and we will call you back when we are able. If you do not live close but would be willing to drive in for a trip please let me know and I will be sure to add you to the postcard list. I do have a secretary that works in the afternoons. She will be able to answer questions if I am not in the office.
